Cheque presentation to Marine Watch

SI Wexford presented a cheque of € 1503.- to Marine Watch. Volunteers who patrol the quays and bridge in Wexford town to prevent accidents and people possibly harming themselves.
The money was raised in Rosslare Golf Club in September 2015. SI Wexford wishes to thank all golfers who participated for their generosity.

"Roaring Twenties" Christmas Party.

SI Wexford organised their annual Christmas party on December 2nd. The theme was the “Roaring Twenties”. A very enjoyable night was had by all.

Ladies golf Wexford

SI Wexford organised a very successful golf outing in Rosslare Golf Club on Tuesday, 15 September 2015.

The weather in the sunny south east was perfect for the occasion!   All  participants enjoyed
the golf and were joined later by the Soroptimists for a lovely meal.

President Alma had the pleasure of welcoming Sarah McCormack, NA Incoming President
as she joined the Club for the event.

An amount of € 1500.- was raised for “Marine Watch”.  The wonderful volunteers who patrol the quays and bridge in Wexford town at night to prevent people from harming themselves.

The Jim Golden China Tea Day

In late February S.I. Wexford President, Alma Hynes hosted a very successful ‘Jim Golden China Tea Day’ at her home on the edge of Wexford town.  There was a fantastic turnout and a whopping €1220 was raised for the chosen charity, the Irish Pilgrimage Trust, which will take Wexford children with special needs to Lourdes this Easter.

The event was attended by up to sixty friends, neighbours and Soroptimists from all over Wexford.  They enjoyed mixing and mingling while sampling some delicious cakes and patisseries on what turned out to be a very sunny south east morning.

SI Wexford organised their annual  lunch in the Ferrycarrig Hotel on Sunday, 4 January 2015.

The event held to celebrate" Nollaig na mBan" was attended by more than 225 guests. The Charities  to benefit from this event are local life-savings organisation Marine Watch and the

National President Margaret Geraghty was the guest of honour.

Cllr. George Lawlor, Mayor of Wexford - also representative of Marine Watch -  attended as
did long serving RNLI volunteer Florence Jenkins.

The guests were entertained by the Castlebridge Gospel Choir.

Soroptimist scarf

Programme Action, raising awareness of domestic violence through education.

5000 bookmarks were distributed by SI Wexford members to schools, the library, councelling services, charity shops, and any other approptiate place to promote good relationships and to give a helpline should relationships break down.

SI Wexford has developed this lovely silk scarf with the Soroptimist logo and colours. They are available to purchase @ €25.- per piece. All proceeds from sale will be donated to the International Project “See Solar Cook Solar”. Clubs may purchase the scarves at wholesale price to raise funds for their own Charities if they so  wish (minimum purchase 10 pieces).

SI Wexford Archive Book

The Archive Book covering over 50 years of Friendship and Service is now on permanent display in our meeting place, The Riverbank House Hotel.
