Members of Soroptimist International Athlone celebrated their 60th Anniversary of the club charter in 1962 with a delightful lunch at Wineport Lodge on Saturday 1st October.
SI Members from Athlone and across Ireland were joined by guest speaker Aileen Hickie CEO of Parentline to mark this fantastic milestone.
To mark this special occasion SI Athlone Club installed a bench in the Athlone Regional Sports Centre Park. The bench is a gift to the people of Athlone to support wellbeing and encourage friendship. Additionally, they planted a Centenary oak tree in front of the bench to highlight their work on climate change.
