We work and advocate to make a difference in the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and globally by educating, empowering and enabling them to achieve their potential. Locally we participate in many causes through our membership in different organisations within the county. We participate annually in a Public Speaking Competition for girls in Transition Year in schools. Through our involvement in our national Programme Action, we advocate for human rights and gender equality. New members are vital to our Club, and we would encourage all women to attend our meetings and see the benefits. Over the last 58 years, five of the Ennis Club members have served as National President. We also have spear-headed national projects, and one of our proudest was founding the “Caring for Carers” project. Our Club received the “Laureate of Women of Europe Award” from the Irish Council of the European Movement in recognition of the voluntary efforts of members of S.I. Ennis at Irish and European levels. As we head towards our 60th Anniversary, the Ennis Club is still championing local and national causes. At the basis of all the support of worthy causes is the incredible gift of friendship which we all enjoy.
