Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2021, Mullingar and District Club members are very much enjoying being able to meet up again in person after holding meetings via Zoom for the last two years. Over the past 30 years, the Club has significantly contributed to the empowerment, education, and enablement of women and girls in the local community and participated in national and international projects within the Federation and throughout the worldwide organisation. A recent member survey found that members desired to continue to raise funds to support local charities. Building on strengthening local partnerships to empower further, educate and enable women and girls is also a key focus of future projects. Over the years, we have contributed to Mullingar town, most notably with the erection of the Pilgrim Monks sculpture, signage and flora features and a dedicated seat to support good mental health in the Tranquillity garden at the County Building. Several trees have also been planted in the Town Park to commemorate club anniversaries.
Soroptimists transform the lives and status of women and girls through
education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.
