To celebrate the centenary of Soroptimist International, Soroptimists from all over the world have been planting native trees throughout 2021/22. As of 31 March 2022, it has been reported that 124,611 trees have been planted by SIGBI throughout the world, which exceeds the target set by President Cathy over two years ago. In addition, 679 trees have been planted by Ecosia as a direct result of Soroptimists using their browser, making 125,290 trees in total.
A beautiful oak sapling has been presented to all 15 clubs in Ireland by the Tree Council of Ireland to mark the centenary year. We hope that all the young trees will continue to grow for many years to come and will be enjoyed by future generations.
