SI Ennis and District recently unveiled a monument at the Memorial Peace Park in Ennis to mark the centenary of Soroptimist International. The memorial comprises a granite block marker post provided by sculptor, Michael McTigue, and a plaque. Under the plaque is a time capsule that will be digitally followed and opened in 2121. SI Ennis and District also planted an Irish oak, which they hope will grow into a strong and beautiful tree for local residents to enjoy. Additionally, the club founded in 1964 were delighted to feature in a recent copy of ‘Soproptimist News’.
